Bought one to see its constant current performance. Based on specifications of 10W and rated operating current at 700mA, the load works out to be 20 ohms at 14V approx. I attached a load about 20.8 ohms but found only 10V across it! That's about 4,8W only. Current calculated about 484mA. I tried another load, 27 ohms (actually meas 26.6 ohms) and output voltage was 12.9V giving calculated current of 485mA. Lastly, I tried with 47 ohms (meas 46.5) and o/p was 10.3V yielding 220mA. Would be interesting to plot out the 'curve' but don't have enough power resistors! Suffice to say (stand corrected), current is constant at 485mA over certain load range.
The con thing is DC output cap (connected to the red/black wires). It is rated at 100uf/16VDC but the no-load o/p voltage measured was 18.4Vdc. No issue if one works on the driver loaded but a hazard without load eg during troubleshooting.
Otherwise, am ok with this for small projects.
