You can't pay a part of an order with DX Points?
A few days I bought something and sent a ticket because I wanted to pay a part of the order with DX Points, but DX told me that this wasn't possible :(

Exaggerating is a bad idea. Use FACTS!
It happens that I cant find it in the FAQs so I can base my msg in something.
It has been removed or I'm not searching in the right place? (you know, there's forum, faq, wiki, asdf, etc)
Thanks!
Eh? It's right there in front of you. Look at the sticky in this section - read the first posts/questions in that sticky.
If they still tell you otherwise then I'd really like to know because then I'll have to ask staff if they suddenly have changed their normal procedures. Personally I guess you have just met the wrong CSE person (maybe a newly hired one).

Now I'm trying that the people from DX "understand" what I want...
I took a closer look on your CSE ticket, and found that you have already paid for the order#0512T0Z3 with PayPal, you also had a total of 271 availale DX Points in your DX account.
You wanted us to pay 27.1USD from the order#0512T0Z3 with your DX Points, right? that is to say, deduct the 271 DX points and refund 27.1 USD via the order#0512T0Z3 to your PayPal account, this way is unacceptable.
You can request us to use the 271 DX points to add any other items you like to order#0512T0Z3, and pay the items by those DX points.
Anyhow, I still curious about this thread:

Yes. Say you want an item that costs $3 and want to pay with $2 cash and 10 DX points. Just checkout like normal and then contact DX. DX will give you a partial refund of $1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You should specify in the first post clearly the ways the users can and can't use their points. Anyway the real solution should be implement a system to add items using points directly in the cart before the checkout.
Hope this thread could be useful for other users.

If DX changes policy, it should update the relevant guides.
(If not also send out a heads up email to individual customers the way Apple does, for example, every time they change their terms and conditions.)

Exactly.
Hopefully that is amongst the changes being worked on with the site upgrade.

The feature with using DX points to add items to your cart yourself has been discussed several times in the forum, but I've never heard any direct plans from DX to implement it. It's been mentioned, but not in any conclusive sentences like "we are working on it".

They have implemented A LOT of stuff lately in the web, so it would not be very difficult to implement such a thing like add items in the order with points before checkout...
Hope I'm wrong, but only DX can prove that I'm wrong.
I'm no longer in the loop on DX policies so sorry

This is Tina from DealExtreme.com.
Please accept our apologies for the trouble you have been put to.
For the DX points, customers are always able to redeem them with the items they like, and we will usually add the items to customers' exisiting orders.
But if the customer want to cover the whole orders with DX points and ask for full refund of it, the points they used must be referral points which are able to be cashed back.
Best Regards,
Tina

So:
- They usually add items to a customer existing order.
- You can only pay a full order with referral dx points.
But it doesn't say anything about paying a part of the order with dx points!
I'm not sure if the mail means yes or not to my request u.u
So that means a no.

I want to order a product which costs 20 dollars (200 points), but I have 150 active points (150 points = 15$).
Is possible to use my 150 active points to pay part of the item (15 dollars), and ADD 5 dollars via paypal?
Thanks!
