Difference: Grey & Blue TrustFire(s) ?

  • gearhounds Saturday, January 24, 2009 2:18 PM Reply
The biggest difference (and reason) for the flat top is that they are much easier to weld/solder to the leads that connect the batteries in series in the lap top battery pack.

I have also found the flat tops to be a better fit in lights that have a positive spring, such as a P60 drop in. Much better surface for spring interface that will decrease the chance of a poorly attached spring slopping sideways under tension and shorting out. If only DX offered a flat top with PCB protection, or the pcb itself, so I could make my own.

The batteries are the same, except for the flat/button top. I am in the process of rebuilding a battery pack for my Dell D610 and will be using sku: 6979.
