received two packs

  • eatatjoes10 Friday, August 19, 2011 9:18 AM Reply
    hi folks,
don't be afraid, no risk of fire, received two sets two days ago:
two cells in shrink wrap, and, very nice, in a plastic storage box! (1 white, 1 green, same as the UltraFire boxes, but without the branding). Both boxes in one bubble-envelope.

Cells are 18,1mm (max.) x 66mm (with tabs)
    At 100mA load: 3 cells voltage at ~3,9V, 1 is at 3,75V
No load voltage: 3 cells at 4,0V, 1 at 3,85V

On the cells wrap it says "low discharge rate"(!) and "with re/discharging protection", but I'm sure it's not protected.

Will test the capacity at ~0,1C and at ~0,2C during the weekend. I can't measure higher loads, as I only have a 4,7ohm and a 8,2ohm high power resistor.

Wow - very nice that they ship with complimentary storage boxes! DX should update their photos to show it.

I'm looking forward to those capacity test. Thanks for volunteering eatatjoes10!
What's up with the scrubbed LED driver IC markings?
What are they trying to hide?

    Yes, the boxes are nice.
But the first test is not so good:
I first measured the cell that was a bit low, it had only 1630mAh @ 724mA after fully charged. The voltage level was very low all the time, and I think that cell is damaged.

Right now the second cell is tested, and it looks much better.
the second cell dropped faster than I thought, also only 1620mAh @ 724mA!

    Testing with ~300mA now...
