Wide beam?

  • khrystyan27 Tuesday, February 21, 2012 1:56 PM Reply
    Hello everybody!

Does this type of lens produce a wide angle beam?

Can someone post a beamshot of it?

Wide in one direction (120°), narrower (50°) in the other, not a round beam.

There's a beam shot in the customer photos... which shows it's not 50° wide.

Oh, sorry, just checked the specs. More like 5°-10° it seems.

The description still says 50 x 120 degree. Someone should report that....
What's up with the scrubbed LED driver IC markings?
What are they trying to hide?

    Ah... got them now, too.
If you place the lens holder directly onto the LED (as probably intended), 50° seems plausible. If you put the LED farther away at lens focus, it gets quite narrow, like in that customer shot.

Got one here I got from a friend.
    Focussed, it's a bar of light, I guess 1° x 5°
    But 'zoomed out' it's a flood of about 120° x 45°.
