How come shipping from DX takes so long?

  • Silverkarn Thursday, March 1, 2012 12:29 PM Reply
I placed an order on 2/13/2012 and it was shipped on 2/16/2012. I have not recieved it yet.

I also placed THREE orders other places that shipped from china, one on the 12th and the other two on the 15th and 17th.

Everything but the DealExtreme order arrived. I was actually suprised at how fast it was since the only experience i have ordering anything from china was from DealExtreme.

Any ideas on why DealExtreme shipping from china takes so long yet other orders from china were here in a timely manner?

Ok, since no one is replying, i have learned my lesson, NEVER EVER order anything under 15 dollars from DealExtreme.

Because if it doesn't have a tracking number there is no way to prove the item ever actually got shipped.

Again, Ebay orders from HONG KONG China took 8 and 10 days to arrive, yet an order from DealExtreme is still waiting to arrive going on 16 days now.

It can take anywhere between 2 weeks and 2 months for packages to arrive, just have some patience.
If it is considered lost, then DX will resend or refund, you are NOT going to loose anything.

There are reported delays at HKP off around 1-2 weeks before they even have the room to ship packages out.

    You got free shipping.
You got things at insanely low price.
This equals alot of orders per day.
This equals a long waiting time.

Buy from eBay, or simply wait, simple as that.

    * If you buy from eBay, its most likely like, say 50 orders a week, which means the person selling can easily send within the week.

More orders = cant handle as fast.

Your right, i get free shipping from Ebay, from Hong Kong, and i receive the packages in less time than from DealExtreme. I see absolutely no reason to continue using DealExtreme.

    Thank you for convincing me.

Buying from eBay however, does not give you proper custom service though.
    Like getting replacements.

    Dealextreme handles that extemely well.

@Zinipo they actually do have better protection.

I ordered a jet lighter and a charming shisha.
I ordered both on the 16 and the jet lighter shipped on the 25 with no tracking number.
Also the charming shisha is still wating for the supplier.

2 months? Not acceptable, no matter where i shop, be it Ebay, DX, or anywhere else that uses Paypal, if the item has shipped and still has not arrived 40 days after it has shipped i file dispute with Paypal.

That is the extreme at bad times of the year.
I usually get my packages in 1-3 weeks, but my last couple that got shipped in December took 7 weeks.
In my near 5 years shopping here, i have never had any package lost, but nobody knows what the postal services are doing on the way. The Royal Mail in the UK can be really really bad sometimes, so you can't really blame the seller as its not their fault.
