    Recovering the IP cam FOSCAM camera and others from errors

    English
    Recovering the IP cam FOSCAM camera from “Error Web UI ‘(app_ver = ’0 .0.0.0′) or other problem. (No needing to buy anything)

    windows/linux

    English | Português

    If you are unable to access the Web interface of the camera because of an unsuccessful upgrade, you can still perform a downgrade to a functiooal ‘firmware/web UI’.

    The only requirement is that it is still possible to execute HTTP commands, even for the command line, which is the method used and that you know the cam’s IP.

    1- First of all reset your camera with a clip (holding the reset button for few seconds)

    2- Download the program “CURL” which will be used to send commands and send files to run the camera.

    Download here (choose your OS) : http://curl.haxx.se/download.html

    3- Unzip the file into a directory eg c:\camera\, and put the files that you would like to send to the camera in the same directory.

    4- As the program “IP Camera” might not work too, look in the router which IP your camera is using. Or use a specific program to scan your network to find

    out. (Google it)

    5- Knowing the IP camera, go to the command line prompt and navigate to the directory that you unzipped the CURL proogram and containing the files to be placed in

    the camera.

    eg “cd \camera”

    6- From within the directory, execute the following commands in order, replacing the [IP] for to camera’s IP and replacing the name o files that you want to put in

    to the camera. For the example will be used the firmware “lr_cmos_11_14_1_42.bin’ and the WEB UI “2.4.8.11.bin”

    Execute the command in order:

    First command:

    curl.exe –user admin: –form [email protected]_cmos_11_14_1_42.bin “http://[IP]/upgrade_firmware.cgi”

    (Wait for the results of the command, it should be “OK”)

    Second command:
    curl.exe –user admin: “http:/[IP]/reboot.cgi”

    (To reboot the cam)

    Third command:
    curl.exe –user admin: –form [email protected] “http://[IP]/upgrade_htmls.cgi”

    (Wait for the results of the command, it should be “OK”)

    Fourth command:

    curl.exe –user admin: “http:/[IP]/reboot.cgi”

    (To reboot the cam)

    THE CAMERA WAS RECOVERED.

    Português
    Algumas pessoas tem tido problemas com a atualização de firmware da IPCAM FOSCAM (ou genéricas) , causando um erro aparentemente irreversível “Error Web UI

    ‘(app_ver = ’0 .0.0.0′), então gerei esse passo a passo demonstrando como recuperá-la, fazendo um downgrade para uma versão funcional. Não é necessário adquirir

    nenhuma “pláquinha mágica” que faça isso como dizem alguns sites…

    Você só precisa saber qual o IP da câmera (e que ela esteja pegando um IP ainda) e possuir uma ferramenta que execute comandos HTTP via linha de comando.

    windows/linux

    1- Resete sua câmera para as configurações de fábrica segurando o botão reset por alguns segundos com um ‘clips’;

    2- Baixe a ferramenta “Curl” que será usada para enviar comandos HTTP e arquivos para a câmera;

    Download aqui (escolha seu sistema operacional) : http://curl.haxx.se/download.html

    3- Descompacte o arquivo baixado em um diretório e deixe junto com os arquivos de firmware da câmera;

    4- Como o programa ‘IP Camera’ que vem junto com a camera não deve estar funcionando também, descubra o IP de sua câmera de outra forma, olhando no roteador,

    passando um Scanner na rede, etc (várias maneiras no google);

    5- Sabendo o IP, abra o Terrminal/Prompt e navegue até o diretório do Curl/firmwares

    Ex: cd \camera (win) | cd /camera (linux)

    6- De dentro do diretório, execute os seguintes comandos em ordem, substituindo o [IP] pelo Ip da câmera e substituindo os nomes dos arquivos que você quer colocar na câmera. Para o exemplo será usado o firmware “lr_cmos_11_14_1_42.bin’ e o WEB UI “2.4.8.11.bin”

    Execute os comandos em ordem:

    Primeiro comando:

    curl.exe –user admin: –form [email protected]_cmos_11_14_1_42.bin “http://[IP]/upgrade_firmware.cgi”

    (Espere pelo resultado do comando, aparecerá “OK”)
    Segundo comando:

    curl.exe –user admin: “http:/[IP]/reboot.cgi”

    (para rebootar a câmera)

    Third comando:

    curl.exe –user admin: –form [email protected] “http://[IP]/upgrade_htmls.cgi”
    (Espere pelo resultado do comando, aparecerá “OK”)

    Quarto comando:

    curl.exe –user admin: “http:/[IP]/reboot.cgi”

    (para rebootar a câmera)

    PRONTO, sua câmera estará recuperada com o firmware que você acabou de colocar.

    After upgrading the camera to 11.14.2.28, the camera is not recording VIDEOS. it is recording only JPG pictures from alarms. On the previous firmware I was able to record videos on my computer instead of JPGs. What is wrong now? Does anyone have ideas?

    The reason I tried upgrading the firmware on my cam, was because I read you could turn off the IR lights.
    I have my cam in front of a window, and at night the IR lights are bouncing off so you don't see anything at all, just white.

    I cannot find any option in the administrative settings to turn it off, neither can I turn em off with the command via the URL.
    It says "ok" but they remain on. Anyone has any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hello again...
    In my camera it is impossible to hear anything. I thought it has audio support but I can't found any option in the menu and it's absolutely silent.
    Do you have same problem?
