I bought one of thesecards and haven't been able to put it to work.
Drivers and software installed without problems, reboot to be on the safe side, selected 1080i on the source, connected the HDMI cable, run the HD DVR software and selected device HD881 PCIe HD Capture Device 6202.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get any sound or video, there's only a half-green image:

Note that the HDMI source detected someone connected to HDMI, so I presume this is not a HDCP problem.

Here is information about my PC from DxDiag: http://pastebin.com/nrTADvCF

Since the culprit could be related to Windows 7 64, I changed the disk for an older Windows XP 32 bit installation and also got the same problem.

Is there any way to solve this? I would love to use this card. Thanks in advance!

    Hi, Tony!
Thanks for your answer. More information:
    1) I changed the graphics card to a AMD Radeon 6450
    2) The half-green image also appears when selecting SD source so HDMI is not the problem
    3) I connected a source that I'm certain it hasn't HDCP so encryption is not the problem
    4) The half-green image also appears on other software like VLC or AmCap so honestech HD DVR 2.5 is not the problem.

Here is the output of the Subsystool:

So, either the card is DOA or is incompatible with something in my system. I will gladly help if you have any further diagnostics or suggestions I could try before giving up on the card (unfortunately, I have no way to test it in another PC).

Update: in VLC the image is around 1280x946 but the green area is exactly 1280x720 (note that I'm only using 1080i sources). Maybe this is relevant to debug the problem.

Update 2: after some fiddling with VLC I finally managed to get a proper image but only worked using the "unsupported" 1280x720 resolution, the image gets all garbled with 1080i. The included honestech software still doesn't work.

Re: ticket - I was directed from that page to this forum, if there is a way to open a ticket I couldn't find it (I selected "option 4.Have trouble on getting the item to work." the option "3 write in the product forum"

Select the "HDMI" option instead of the "Y / Pb / Pr" one:

Thanks, that was the problem. I forgot to update this thread with the solution. The manual in Chinese doesn't help :-|

Yup, it wasn't easy but it's working.
I suggest you forget the awful Honestech software and use instead PotPlayer.
