Fandyfire UV-S5 lumens downgraded!

    Well I waited 2wks and when I finally got my shipping confirmation I clicked on to double check everything was right. The first thing I noticed was that the lumens is now rated at 1800, not the original 3000 when I first ordered. I'm not going to change my order, but I just thought I'd let everyone know. Is this a more realistic rating? Also, I think this is now available in black (Sky Ray King) if I'm not mistaken. SKU: 186098. What's the difference between these two?SKU: 120679

    The UV-S5 is the same as it's always been, but now seems to have an honest lm. rating. This has happened before, and it usually goes back up to 3000 lm. after a while. ( it gets sheepish very mad). :)

    The Sky Ray is rated at 2800 mA, and if I remember correctly, sheepish said it's about 1200 lm.

    sheepish is like a flashlight (torch according to him) wizard, and tirelessly battles exaggerated lumen claims.

    Mine(FandyFire) was just shipped. Are both the Sky Ray King and FandyFire have the same brightness? Since one is a U2 and another a XML-T6? I am confused. Thanks!

    The XM-L U2 is only a tiny bit brighter than XM-L T6. But if you look at the circuitry of each light, the UV-S5 has 5000 mA. and the Sky Ray only 2800 mA. The UV-S5 is definitely brighter.

    Prodfk; Not always. If two lights are identical except for the mA rating, the one with the higher rating should be brighter.

    With lights that are different, there are many variables and it gets a little complicated. (for me anyway). :)

    Hi. Is the the UV-S5 the best for its price range? Is there any other "best" flashlight within this price range?

    Without knowing what you want to use it for, I can't say it's the best light for you.

    I can say it's worth the money. I can say that it's amazingly bright. It's well made, and I'm very happy with it. All the reviewers are happy with it also.

    If you're looking for a light like this, than I highly recommend it. :)

    edit; If you want a light with a lot of "wow" factor, this is it. So far, every person who has seen it, has said WOW. Including me. ")

    I understand. I have also seen reviews on this one. I thought DX would have a same type in this price range. Thanks!
