Processing a Cash Back

  • sheepish Top 10 Forum Poster Tuesday, February 05, 2013 1:31 AM Reply
I just got a Cash Back processed, but the points came off my Pending Points not my Available Points. Should I:

    a) Try the same again to make use of all those Available Points which are still there.
    b) Open another ticket to point out the problem (since my first ticket was immediately closed).
    c) Use the rating system for my original ticket to highlight the issue.
    d) PM someone in this thread who might be better at sorting out the problem than anyone has been about the Validation Code issue. http://club.dx.com/forums/forums.dx/threadid.1247774
    e) All of the above.

    f) Just wait and it'll magically get sorted out all by itself.

    Yeah, that's that one.

haha yeah! same here @sheepish. Apparently a huge bug. My concern is that by deducting them from Pending, that was working like a "refunded order", because I think it altered my total.
It seems that was auto-solved. :-)

So it was auto-solved for you as well? Maybe they are Pending for only 60 minutes, not 60 days.

I’m sure your suggestion (f) is the best way to go sheepish… That’s what I’ve done ever since changeover to DX.com. To be honest, I haven’t a clue what has gone on since then but there is a whole list of items in my points table that I can’t account for! Most items have absolutely no relation to any purchases or tips given or received, they just appear as an item with the legend:
Points system is being updated, contact customer service for details.

The largest is +30 but there is a -10 several +1’s a few -2’s, even a +2.14. There’s no way of knowing but I’m sure I’d be at least 50 points in front! The whole system seems to be screwed up.

I’ve never bothered to redeem points, only use them to tip or give away in competitions… which I guess I’d better do as soon as FallenArchangel’s comp is over. I should have another 20 points to contribute then. ;)

I'm losing confidence in answer (f). I had a couple of items added to my order yesterday using a combination of DX Points and Referral Points. (FWIW my first request to add the items wasn't understood - had to try again using very short words.) The right number of points got added to my two points pages but the Referral Points are counting toward the Pending Points not the Available Points and the DX Points don't seem to have counted toward any total.

It's not showing any sign of sorting itself out quickly like the Cash Back did. Maybe these problems are manually fixed and it's now Chinese New Year.

I note that this is now a Site Bug not an Affiliate problem.

I had the same problem last week. The issue was resolved without doing nothing.
They deducted from the pending instead of the available.
Then a few days later, they deducted the same amount from the available ones and "refunded" the pending points they deducted by error.

A separate transaction? That implies it was done incorrectly the first time. (I don't think that happened when Tina was entering all the transactions.) But that wouldn't explain why my Cash Back wasn't redone.

BTW in English it's "without doing anything" unless you were doing something.
