Strobe in turns?

  • starush Sunday, March 31, 2013 6:33 PM Reply
There are "Strobe in turns" in the modes list. Would you be so kind to describe this mode?
Does it mean that headlight will determine when bike turn to the left or to the right ant then strobe?

Never saw strobe in turns before. Maybe @cyclist or @desolder would know.

And you can ask all your questions about the same item in the same thread.

I looked into thesaurus and found that:

Adv. 1. in turn - in proper order or sequence; "talked to each child in turn"; "the stable became in turn a chapel and then a movie theater"

At least it is not "strobe when you turn somewhere". ;-) However, the meaning was not fully cleared.
Maybe it strobes using some special pattern.

I can't see how those definitions would apply to this light.

You can use Report Error (below the overview) to ask. Choose lacking info.

"In turn" simply means one after the other. In this case it would flash in sequence like 1-2-3,1-2-3, or maybe 2-1-3,2-1-3. I would guess it is so each led gets equal use?

Oh, you're right! I forgot that there are three LED's ;-).

Now I'm trying to guess how's overall good is this headlight. I like it's quick release mounting and would like to see ow it works on some vide review but unable to find any. It looks like it should be better than rubber ring, but I would like to be sure before buy.

Rustu is a fairly new brand. I don't know if there are any reviews yet for their products. That would make me cautious about buying one.

I've never seen strobe in turns (while turning) before. So I agree it probably means "one after the other".
What's up with the scrubbed LED driver IC markings?
What are they trying to hide?

    Its not one after another.
Modes go as this (i have this headlight from other company, but i'm sure that they all use the same driver):
    1) Center led on
    2) Side leds on
    3) Center + side leds on
    4) Strobe in turns = center led on OR side leds on, basically quickly switching between mode 1 and mode 2. This makes interesting effect of giving you constant light (either one or two leds will be on) and strobe at same time. Probably a good mode for night driving on roads.
    5) If you hold down the button then you'll get the normal strobe mode, all 3 leds will blink at same time.

Also keep in mind that this light doesn't have any battery indicators at all.
