Switches off but don't close its door after that..

  • sugarrayshumway Friday, January 16, 2015 9:06 PM Reply
I got the box today and it doesn't work...
If I switch it on the arm comes out and switches the box off, after that everything is stopped. I have to push the arm inside again manually.
I am happy for every valueable tip how I can fix this?

    This is how it freezes:

My guess is a spring isn't springing.

As you can see above it was a cold solderjoint on the endswitch in the bottom right corner the first two solderjoint from left.

There is no spring and the whole thing is build dead simple. The switch on top inverts the polarization of the voltage to the motor. If you switch it on, motor starts spinning until it switches itself off-> this inverts voltage so the motor turns in the other direction until the hand arrives in the boxbottom and presses a momentary button to switch itself off.
    Works really good and reliable.

Bad solder joints are often very hard to detect in person. Photos are even harder.

More photos of the mechanics please!
