Forum is still broken.

  • cyclist Moderator Wednesday, January 6, 2016 12:02 AM Reply

    When will this be fixed?

Browser spell checkers don't work, images rarely show up for everyone.

Why was this messed with in the begining?

Sorry for the inconvenience. I've reported this issue to them yesterday.

    They are still checking why.

    Thank you Vicky :)

    Spell check:

Its an add-on you can get for your internet browers that will high light a word if it is spelt wrong or you mix the letters up.

The forum used work fine with this, but it doesn't work at all now.

While its nothing major, it is a real pain when Im not sure the correct spelling for a word, and I have to open a new window just so I can Google the word and get the correct spelling!

Every other forum I use on the web allows this, but the DX IT gang always seem to make a mess of everything they do!

They really need to put the old forum back because nothing they have done has been an inprovement, and they have just made a working forum almost un-useable.

A real example of what cyclist highlighted is in the last para of his above post. 😉

"They really need to put the old forum back because nothing they have done has been an inprovement..."

What does it take to convince the I.T. staff? The original format had every function we required, it was simple to use and IT WORKED. The new one has fewer useful functions, takes longer to use, is riddled with bugs and IT DOESN'T WORK! Every regular user I have seen comment disapproves of it. I.T. have not responded to any complaints, so are either ignoring them or just incapable of fixing them. If that is the case, it would take months to explain all the faults and unlikely they would ever be fixed. Just put the old system back. PLEASE!

I wholeheartedly agree with that. I keep on having troubles with italics not wanting to turn off and line feeds refusing to be deleted. These and many other problems simply did not exist in the old forum interface.

Another problem I've muttered about a few times but haven't seen mentioned is every thread on the product pages shows today's date, not the date the thread was started or most recently posted in.

I just edited a post with a photo in it. I hit return in a completely separate paragraph from the photo, in order to auto-link a URL, and the photo vanished. It was replaced with a little broken link icon. Where did the photo go, DX?
