How to stop HDD rotating before safe disconnect?

    I cannot stop HDD rotating before safe disconnect. HDD spindle is always rotating. Power management does not work, SMART attributes cannot be read.

    I tried Crystal Diskinfo and Victoria with no result.

    Other docking stations does not have such problems.

    Hello @lk0001

    This is normal. There are tracks on HDD. It will rotate a few seconds as there is no resistance when power is off. This will not affect the data and the HDD. Be reassured please.

    I am working in data recovery for 20 years and I know what is normal and what is not. 

    I need to stop HDD rotating before safe disconnect. All ATA drives since 1993 have ability to  stop spindle rotating, but this K3092 docking probably does not support it.

    Today, I have received file 20161206分位更新刷机包.rar from unknown adress. Probably, it is firmware update with update utility. With chinese instructions... Files inside:







    I used google translator, this is really firmware update.

    It was firmware for JMS567 chip.

    MAIWO K3092 is built on JMS539 chip.
    I still need a correct firmware.
