Inflated lumen claim

  • PolarCircle Thursday, August 10, 2017 8:28 AM Reply

13000 lumens from two 18650 batteries is untrue. 13000 lumens from 3 cree xm-l leds is also untrue, as cree specifies 1000 lumens each at 3A current. 13000 lumens equals 130W at 100lm/watt!

To add to the mess, the title says 3000 lm and the overview manages to say it has 5 LEDs; one of the modes is "3xT6+2R5".

And the photos show the LED in the main beam is not a Cree XM-L (T6 bin). It's a fake Chinese copy, capable of just a few hundred lumens of cold blue tinted light.

The same also goes for sku.916474534, sku.916474535, and sku.916474536. The same lights but different plugs for other countries.

edit - I see the title has already been changed for this one, but not the description. The others still say 13000 lm in the title and description.

OK, the title of this one now refers to 3000 Litre-metres, whatever they are. The description still has lies:

    Theoretical Lumens

    3000 lumens

    Actual Lumens    3000 lumens

    This one is good:

    Product description:
    100% Real photos .

    Real photos of fake LEDs.

That's easy. They're exactly the same as quart-yards, but just a little bigger.
