Lack of support

  • tomlayo Tuesday, March 06, 2018 7:52 PM Reply

I bought a Sky Top Power PS from DX, which died after a few months. No schematic or website for STP. I posted a critical review, they refused to publish it. Makes me suspicious of any product with positive reviews.

I won't buy anything from DX until I can trust the reviews, and will never buy anything without a website and service information.

What did DX say when you contacted them to ask for a replacement, for the faulty item you obviously got?

    Hello @tomlayo

Please raise a ticket case firstly and then our after-sales team will follow up your case. Thanks.

    Hi Cyclist (I am also!)

They want me to 'raise a ticket case'. No idea what that is. The power supply worked fine for two months, then died. I don't hold anyone responsible for that. But the lack of any service data or a website for the company is unreasonable.

Also, the fact that DX won't print a negative review is also unreasonable. As I said, makes me suspicious of any DX review. Do they just delete any unfavorable ones? reviews range from * to *****.  Not DX, they are all favorable. This is a scam.

    Thanks, Tom

    Hi tomlayo,

How to contact DX is at the top and bottom of every page and under every post, Maye linked to the ticket you need to open in her post above.

DX's return policy is in my sig below.

Every item DX has, has its own forum, so its best (a lot of customers do that instead of using DX's flawed review system) to just put your review there, that way other customers can ask questions or offer advice. Review posts/threads wont be censored.

There are sooooo many threads about DX's review system, they all pretty much say the same thing!

Back when MODs (myself) could do reviews, I approved pretty much anything as long as it wasn't spam or a useless review with no info in it, the problem sometimes came when someone got a faulty item and they thought they had a right to leave a bad review for that.

Sometimes things are faulty, you cant review something properly that doesn't work from the start, but if something worked and then broke due to normal use, then its kinda 50/50 whether it gets approved or not.

Sadly, MOD's are now no longer allowed to do reviews, so its all down to DX staff who don't know about the products or just don't care. If its got 3-5 stars then they just approve without reading and then usually just delete anything with 1-2 stars, but not always!

Check out my reviews to see that they will approve anything!

While DX does do things it shouldn't, they are still a good place to shop if you know how they work, if you don't know, use the forum to ask :)

They are called "Discussions". To post there, just scroll down the item's page and click on  "Post a new topic". It will stay there for customers to see.

Or you can simply re-submit  the review giving it 4~5 stars, but explain in the beggining of the review, the reason you gave it that many stars, and how many stars you think it actually deserves.

    I've done both.

edit - Btw, if you check my latest review, it was posted strictly to prove that DX doesn't read them at all because according to my review, it never arrived. (it actually did, and my granddaughter loves it)

ALWAYS ask questions about a specific item on its
page. Scroll down and click on "Post a new topic".

gasbag11 I have trouble clicking on your second latest review. Instead of seeing http://club.dx.com/reviews/916497536/841151 I  just end up at http://club.dx.com/ . Is it because the link to the product itself doesn't work any more?

DX has found a new way to deceive customers:
Use reviews for different products that have not been bought
by the person who wrote the review.

Apparently DX has removed all Manker products, including  4 other ones that I bought there.

Instead of getting more good quality lights like the Mankers, or Convoy which are good quality at low prices, they get all the crap lights with total BS specs like Zhaoyao, SPO, or the newest liar of the bunch, Aibber Tone.

And removing all the product forums (Discussions) of the Mankers and loads of other products with a lot of valuable information, shows me that DX doesn't care about people who have bought those items in the past.

I've found nine ten* brands sold by DX which lie about the counterfeit LEDs they use, and lots of others which lie about specs such as lumens, beamshots, battery capacity, and IP rating.

Maybe Manker didn't want to be associated with DX because it would be associated with all those lying brands.

    * Edit - I didn't have SPO.
