Suitable driver for 12V?

  • NightRider Tuesday, May 08, 2018 2:14 PM Reply

This looks like a bare emitter hence cannot be driven directly off a 12V battery since it will burn up instantly.

Current should be limited to 4A. Can anyone recommend a suitable driver?

Best would be with variable output via PWM control. There are many high power PWM controllers here at DX but none seem to offer also max current limiting.

DX has never had good drivers for 4S LED arrays. I don't know why the arrays are so common.

Have you considered a 15 V power supply with a resistor to limit current and a single channel 12-24 V PWM controller for dimming?

Don't know if you know it, but Zhaoyao is one of the biggest liars on this site, at least regarding specs for their flashlights.

    I'm sure sheepish will agree.

I somehow managed to miss that. I would not buy anything from Zhaoyao.
