Then why are there two springs in the battery compartment?

my bad, there seems to be two versions of this mouse, one with 1 X AA and 2 X AAA, but i still prefer AA version as ni-mh cells have higher capacity

One AA NiMH cell has more capacity than two AAA NiMH cells.

yes that's what i meant, i'm trying these new Ladda(Ikea) cells that are supposedly made by Fujitsu, AA 2450mAh and AAA 900mAh, so 2.94Wh vs 2.16Wh, Eneloop Pro even higher but the Ladda cells are like half the price of Eneloop cells but not half the performance!

They will probably last less than half the number of cycles. Japanese made Eneloops outlast anything. The Chinese made Eneloops are not so good.

the Ladda cells are also made in Japan, but according to someone on the forum here Ladda cells might be rebranded Eneloop Pro cells, self discharge tests look ok
