Missing Store Credit from checkout!

  • gasbag11 Top 10 Forum Poster Tuesday, September 25, 2018 8:58 PM Reply

    Hello @Alll

We truly apologize for any inconvenience caused. If you  have any problems with the use of SC, please PM me, thanks for your cooperation.

Unreal! They can't even replace the store credit button.

Do you wonder if people who work at other Chinese websites snicker if someone there says DX?

Good to know that I was not the only one affected by this problem.

Where is the Store Credit option??

3 weeks and they still haven't replaced the button? Can even DX be that incompetent? Sorry, but I'm just not buying that anymore.

And I still find it very odd that after 3 weeks now, only 1 customer has asked about it.

only 1 customer has asked about it.

cyclist started this thread and I used the Report Error link in the checkout. I'm pretty sure we both used to be customers.

DX has found a new way to deceive customers:
Use reviews for different products that have not been bought
by the person who wrote the review.

Has anyone pointed out this post in May from ozOzo?

The missing Store Credit button is not a site bug. It's policy.

Its been missing for over a month and some day DX IT crew might be clever enough to put it back!

Sadly I don't think cleverness has anything much to do with it. I think it's culture combined with policy.

A while back in another thread, you said I'm more cynical than you.

You're right. Like I've said before, (I could easily be very wrong and I actually hope I am) I think it's a ploy to hold on to as much money as they possibly can, in order to keep the doors open a little longer.

To put it as plainly as possible, DX has absolutely no right to take away access to a customer's store credit. It's the customer's money and DX is only holding it for him/her temporarily. It's no different than theft. If you ordered and paid for a $500.00 phone/whatnot which was immediately discontinued and DX (or any other site) refused to refund you or compensate you in any way, I'm sure you'd be as outraged as I would.

I'm also now cynical enough to question if all the site bugs there are really "bugs" at all. Funny how they managed to work out in DX's favor, if only for excuses as to why they can't help someone. I've never seen any other site that just lets site bugs keep piling up higher and higher.

Going back to the 1st (or one of the 1st) site bugs, what would be the only logical reason for no longer listing dates that items were added? Not wanting customers to know how old some products are.

Not a site bug, but could the review system there be any more dishonest without them writing the reviews themselves? Censorship? DX staff upvoting new reviews? Something which only customers should be able to do. Removing the downvote button?

When I 1st started buying from DX I ordered very frequently. Sometimes weekly or (rarely) a little more. In 2014 I have 22 orders in my account and that's with the 1st 3 months of orders missing from my account.

This year I haven't ordered anything since March. Not entirely DX's fault since I've lost a lot of interest in flashlights and related things, but I used to enjoy ordering just about anything from DX. Now it just isn't the same.

The best analogy I can make is that it's like finding out an old trusted friend has become less trustworthy over the years.

I agree.. but they have not taken away Store Credit accessibility.

By placing a private message to any of the staff or using this form, you can use the Store Credits:

    https://cs.dx.com/Payment/Storecredit

After all, this is the extra thing to do but it works..

I'm relieved. (So much Store Credits left)

Yeah, I should have said they shouldn't have hidden the store credit button without at least posting a stickie about in the forums. But DX doesn't even bother giving basic info to their customers any more. Not a word was mentioned about being closed for an entire week for National Day.

I've read a few times that only a very small percentage of customers know that some sites have forums, and an even smaller percentage have used them. That means most customers wouldn't know how to PM staff, or even what PM means.

Others have said this, but I agree that it seems like DX just doesn't care about its customers anymore.

They are not bugs. They are deliberately instigated features resulting from policy changes, I think often stemming from Chinese culture. And mismanagement.

Apparently so, which is removal of a feature due to policy.

With the review system DX has piled layer upon layer of deception.
