HEY DX! Other sites actually give descriptions...

  • gasbag11 Top 10 Forum Poster Saturday, October 27, 2018 11:59 PM Reply

... for items they sell. Not stupid useless drivel like below.

    Specification

    Cell Type    -

    Battery Model    18650

    Head Type    Flat Top

    Mark Capacity    -mAh

    Measured Capacity    --mAh

    Voltage    -V

    Rechargeable    No

    Rechargeable Times    -

    Built-in Protected Circuit    No

    Over Voltage Protection    No

    Short-Circuit Protection    No

    Over-Charging Protection    No

    Over-Discharging Protection    No

    Mercury Free    No

    Interface    -cm

    Battery Pack Form.    -

    Other Features

    Other Features    -

    Certification    -

    Dimensions & Weight

    Dimensions    1.18 in x 1.18 in x 1.18 in (3 cm x 3 cm x 3 cm)

    Weight    10.51 oz (298 g)

The only thing in the whole description that's partly right is  "Battery Model 18650", EDIT - but even that's not 100% correct because it should say 18650 X 4. EVERYTHING else in the description is nonsense or wrong.

I can't speak for anyone else, but there's no way in the world that I'd order anything from any site with a description as bad as that.

NO! I don't know why DX screwed up the site so badly.
    Ask them.

If DX actually gave the specs for a Fibber Tone torch they wouldn't be believeable.

    Title: Tactical 12-LED CREE XM-L T6

    Subtitle: 12 X CREE XM-L T6 LED

Nope, the photo clearly shows they are counterfeit Crees.

Note, too, the recycled beam shots including the beam which somehow obscures the hill behind it.

Yep, those are the same beamshots that were shown for a light that you called B.S. on not long ago. At that time I mentioned that that beamshot looks more like fog or smoke than light.

I'll never understand how it's possible that DX can allow a description that bad to be shown on their site.

I've said before that it seems like DX doesn't care about fixing any of the (many) site bugs, or other things that make for a less satisfying experience for customers, (old and new) but now, with descriptions like this, I think they must not care if customers buy anything here or not.

What an odd, strange way to run a business.

It's like they want to keep their suppliars happier than their customers. It's very strange.

Maybe they have some sort of "perpetual motion seller/buyer" relationship worked out.

DX buys from the suppliar, raises the price slightly and sells it back to the suppliar. The suppliar raises the price slightly and sells it back to DX. It's ingenious if you think about it for a second. That's obviously why they don't care if customers buy anything or not.

I'm ashamed of myself for not figuring that out sooner. And we thought DX didn't know what it was doing. lol
