72,000 lumens? REALLY?

  • gasbag11 Top 10 Forum Poster Sunday, November 04, 2018 10:24 PM Reply

Would that be for the green or the red LEDs?

Or maybe the blinding flash when those crappy unprotected batteries detonate because the crappy charger just malfunctioned big time?

I kinda doubt that each cell has enough energy to reach 16,000 lm though. Considering the brand, I'll guess around 5,000 ~ 6,000 lm tops.

    Fibber Tone. No surprises here.

Sadly DX will lie through its teeth defending its suppliars.

Not much sign of a lantern.

It would be power that allows it to get to 16,000 lm. Power is energy per second. 72,000 lm / 4 = 18,000 lm, which at an actual Chinese efficacy of 60 lm/W would take 300 W. That's heading toward 100 A (allowing for a large voltage sag on the Chinese cells). That's a lot of current, but could be achieved with a good quality high output high capacity Li-ion polymer cell, such as a 5 Ah, 20C cell from a reputable source.

Finally some truth in advertising! It's 72,000 lumens for about 2 seconds LOL.

What's up with the scrubbed LED driver IC markings?
What are they trying to hide?

I didn't get an email notification for that ^^ post. That seems to happen a lot.

I got one for it. That hasn't happened (to me) for a while now.
