RAM + reinstalling?

  • Bilbo Sunday, July 12, 2009 10:06 AM Reply
Seems like a good linux PDA :)

But what I am missing from the description, is amount of the RAM in it.

Also, is it possible to reinstall the system inside? I'd like to get Debian inside (which should support ARM)

UBUNTU is debian based distro, you can use .deb packages evem from debian and about the RAM, more technically there are two chips HYB25DC512160CF each 64 MB. On the photo the two chips close to SD card slot
    there is datasheet: http://pdf1.alldatasheet.co.kr/datasheet-pdf/view/207108/QIMONDA/HYB25DC512160CF-6.html
but eventhought you find some compatible chips (let's say 2x128MB - 2x1024Mbit) and this ARM will be capable to detect them correctly, than it is some kind of FBGA package and desolder it at home? It will be horrible profi job to replace the chips...
    Take a closer look: http://www.ill-logix.com/sq5/sq5_parts_id/ram/1of2_64MB_SDRAM_chips_01.jpg
