    I got mine today, and i think it's claimed 1250 is true kuz it's med mode is as bright as mine 900 P7, and the hi mode is visibly much bright than P7 on hi.

    Could you measure the current drawn at the tailcap?

    If you have a multimeter it's easy: set it on the max DC current range (5A or more), remove the tailcap from the flashlight and with one probe touch the battery negative, and with the other the aluminium body of the flahlight (where it is not anodized).
    However, if you do not have a multimeter, you could try to do a runtime test with full charged batteries: the average current drawn would be
    battery capacity (in mAh)/runtime (in hours).
    Do that only if you use protected batteries.

    I got this today. Cheap multimeter shows 2.9A (full 2 x 18650 = 8.2V) (20A max in multimeter and long wires to add resistance) and my lux meter setup go down from 450 to 350 with multimeter resistance added...

    So it takes about 24W of power and must be regulated much higher than 3000mA.

    All my (2X18650) SSC P7 and CREE MC-E give only 100-170 relative lux in same distance. Mostly this is from better trow but this is also most power full led light I have ever seen.

    @Tonza74:
    Without the extension tube, will it fit 2x 18500?
    I'd rather have a flashlight in front of me than a
    "frontal flashlightomy"!

    Extension tube add 5.5 cm, so I say NO. I don't have 18500 batteries to verify, but it can't fit 3 x CR123A batteries.

    Maybe a couple of 16340? It would be a "pocket" monster on a couple of IMR16340, although only 15 minutes of runtime.
