Can this handle 14500?

  • edap617 Saturday, December 25, 2010 7:53 PM Reply
I have bought several C-78 which look exactly the same as this. I like the C-78 because it can handle both AA and 14500.

    The specs of C-78 says
    Voltage Input: 0.5~1.9V, 1.9V max..

    but it can handle 14500.

I would say get two and try with one of them. So you still have a working one if it fails. xD

If it can handle it, it will be direct drive.

If led does not instaburn, it does not mean that light can "handle" something. There are several other things to fail, usually releated heat management. I was very happy to overdrive certain light for a while, because led seem to "handle" current, until led fell off and some plastic parts melted because of overheating.

That's why I suggested to buy two.

    Thanks for chuckle.

Because of overheating nearly all my 14500 handling small lights are kind of useless Shelf Queens or lights to take a dog out. Except one Tiablo.
