HD Media Player MP2506-F10 Version software 2010/12/29

  • Edagner Monday, July 18, 2011 2:52 PM Reply
Hi, I've bought two HD Media Player MP2506-F10 called "Compact HD 1080P 2.5" SATA HDD Media Player with HDMI/USB Host/SD/AV-Out/COAX - Black".

By surfing the internet, i think this is the model (MP2506) and this the chipset (F10)

They have different versions of software:

    1) Version software 2010/11/26

    2) Version software 2010/12/29

Anyone knows which is the manufacturer's page?

How i can download the newest firmware and update my two MP2506-F10.

Version software 2010/11/26 to Version software 2010/12/29 or newer.

The newest version software (2010/12/29) can play files from folders.

    Thanks, best wishes.

I own one of these, MP2506-F10, software version 2010-12-29. I don't know exactly what do you mean by "The newest version software (2010/12/29) can play files from folders.", but mine can't play folder native DVD structure (AUDIO_TS / VIDEO_TS), although it is capable of playing .VOB files within VIDEO_TS folder.

I have not been able to find any firmware upgrade either... Nevertheless, a friend of mine acquired the same item (SKU 57177) one month later or so, and this one DOES INDEED play DVD format. Its inteface looks quite different, however. It even lacks the "software version" menu under "setup" (from where I got 2010-12-29). Instead, it has "System information", where it states tvd2.05dmp2506

Anyone who may know anything about it, please let me (us) know.

    Thanks a lot.

i have one with this firmware: tvd2.05dmp2506.
    i can play DVD folders.
the menu seems to have more options than those in the manual and in the customer videos.
but it can't display subtitles. on the OSD menu it shows "no subtitle".

can you confirm that your friend's unit can display subtitles?

I can play subtitles if I convert my files to MKV with embedded subtitles.

the player was working just fine for about 1.5 year.
now it refuses to start up for no reason.
after connecting the power cord - the power led flashes red, then shines blue and the HDD spins but no output signal comes out.
it does not react to any buttons also (including "power off" button) - nothing happens at all.

meanwhile, after i plug out the power cord and connect the device to PC - it works as an external HDD just fine.

looks like the device freezes during mediaplayer boot process.
so, is there any method to hard reset the mediaplayer to factory default state?

If I were you, I would repeat this question under a new thread. It is only loosely related to this one, and you might get responses more tailored to your question if it wasn't posted as a response to a different one :D

Good luck with your problem, mine is on its way and I will probably being posting some of my own threads when it gets here :P
