  • tiffany @DX Staff @DX Staff Friday, September 30, 2011 2:03 AM Reply
    Dear All,

DX new affiliate program now is ready, we would like to hear suggestions from you guys. Our IT department is working on this and it will launch along with our new system on DealExtreme.com.

Note: Contents are subject to change according to feedbacks received afterwards.

    Registration and commission

    Registration

DX’s Affiliate program is entirely FREE!

To get your FREE DX Affiliate account first log into your DX account or register for a FREE DX account. Then go into My Account and sign up for your FREE DX Affiliate account

Commission rates depend on annual DRP earned and start at 7.5%. However if you have a high traffic website you can apply for a Partner level upgrade at any time by emailing [email protected]

    img src: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/a6de6.jpg

    * Commission is 1 DRP per $10 per order. A $9.99 order gets 0.9 DRP. A $19.99 order gets 1 .9DRP

    Note:
    1. DX awards points for cash or product discounts based solely on referred order amounts, not web traffic (page views, hits, etc) generated.
    2. Referral orders can only belong to one Affiliate. Referrals are not transferrable to another Affiliate.
    3. Using your own Affiliate ID to place orders to earn points is strictly forbidden and DX will check the order status of Affiliate users on a regular basis to ensure this does not happen. If discovered, the violating account will be deleted and all points will be made void.
    4. If a user clicks two different Affiliate links, one right after another, and places a valid order, the points of that order will be awarded to the latter Affiliate being clicked.

    Levels
    • Starter can upgrade to Standard at any time earning 250 DRP
    • Upgrading to Premium requires a Standard account that is a least 1200 earned on the Standard level within 1 year
    • Upgrading to Platinum requires a Premium account that is at least 3000 DRP earned on the Premium level within 1 year
    • To upgrade your level just click the “Upgrade Level” button in your DX Affiliate account when it is available
    • Partner level is reserved for high traffic website. An upgrade can be requested at any time by contacting [email protected]
    • All affiliate accounts will be assessed annually. Accounts that fail to meet level criteria will be lower 1 tier

    Redemption
    • DRP require 60 days to activate. Pending means the DRP are less than 60 days old and can’t be redeemed yet
    • Active DRP can be redeemed at any time at the rate 10 DRP = $1 USD for all levels. DPR can be redeemed for cash, product discounts or gift cards. Redemptions take 3-5 business days to process
To request your redemption is easy by sending a ticket at
    http://services.dealextreme.com/forms/DXAccount.aspx?type=Affiliate
    • Invalid DRP are from refunded orders and are not usable

    Commission rates seem low?
While other sites may offer a higher commission their prices are also higher. DX is known for offering quality products at extremely low prices. This combined with our extremely large selection of OVER 100,000 products allows you to earn more faster

    Usage
DX offers two ways of adding Affiliate links:

    • The first way is to add your Affiliate ID in the URL or link according to DX formatting. For example, if the Affiliate ID you received from DX is ‘1234567’, the links below illustrate some of the ways they can be formatted so our system knows that the visitor was sent from you.

Example 1: Link to our homepage:
    http://www.dealextreme.com/default.dx/?r=1234567

Example 2: Link to our popular iPod earbuds, SKU: 33:
    http://www.dealextreme.com/p/33?r=1234567

Example 3: Link to our flashlight keychains category:
    http://www.dealextreme.com/c/145?r=1234567

    • The second way is to use the various image links DX will provide for Affiliates to embed into their websites, forums and blogs. See image below.

    img src: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/b7521.jpg

Affiliate users paste highlighted code to their website or blog, which generates an image that DX has designed which is in accordance with its own website style. When a person clicks this picture they will be taken directly to DX’s website. For more detailed information please go to the following address: http://www.dealextreme.com/affiliates/affiliateProgram.dx.

    DAP Technical Support
    • DAP is cookie based not account based. DAP does not offer tiered affiliates
    • Web browser used must allow cookies
    • Cookies expire after 45 days. As an example of this validity limitation, if an Affiliate user brings a customer to our website and the customer does not purchase anything or place an order until the 46th day, the order will not be rewarded to the referring Affiliate and no commission will be earned.
    • Only 1 cookie can be active at a time. When multiple affiliate links are used the last referral link clicked will be credited
    • Orders placed without an active cookie are not valid

How to transform original ARP customer Level?
    • Account changes with regard to level, status, etc, of your original Affiliate Program account may be modified by DX during our yearly account assessments based on points earned and account activity. These assessments may include an account upgrade or an account downgrade at the discretion of the DealExtreme Affiliate Program.

What is the "validity"? For example, If I am premium and I dont "earn" 1200 points in 1 year, the account automatically switchs back to standard?

Thanks Tiffany. It's really really great to have things clearly stated.

Does DRP stand for DealExtreme Referral Points? Are they going to be quite separate from ordinary DX Points?

    A $9.99 order gets 0.9 DRP. A $19.99 order gets 1 .9DRP

Sticking with 2 decimal places would be good, like it is at present.

What is considered to be a high traffic website, to qualify for "partner" level? One that earns significantly more than 3000 DRP in a year?

Deleting the account of someone using their own referral number is quite harsh for something that shouldn't be possible to do anyway. I quite often use my own site to find products that I'm interested in, which means that I quite often follow my own referral links. How am I supposed to avoid using my own Affiliate ID to place orders in that situation? Unless I check my cookies the only way I'd know is when it's too late. This is not good.

Do I understand this correctly? If I have a very busy site and get onto Platinum level but my site referrals drop right away after that, the next year I'd only drop to Premium, not Starter? And it would take 3 years for my account to fall back to Starter?

I'd still like to be able to redeem points without needing a ticket, and to be able to pay for orders using the points instead of a credit card. Perhaps this could be done by allowing us to convert points into coupons which can be used at the checkout at present.

Are points from refunded orders going to be changed to invalid rather than pending? That sounds better than the present situation where the refund points are deducted from the account immediately while the original order points are pending for the full 60 days.

Do the 45 days for the referral cookie reset if another referral link is followed?

Overall it sounds quite good - just a few issues to be ironed out.

I think it would be better without new short thing "DRP"

And do they have same value than the old DX points?

and the previous was better since to go to premium step you need to collect only 200 pts now its 1200pts

    Thanks Tiffany!!!
now i read your text. i see many positive.
I'll try to do the right question. I is difficult to write in English.
    1. will be returned to me in calculating the points lost in the transition period?
    http://club.dealextreme.com/forums/Forums.dx/threadid.956551
    2. i Have old account. e-mail was stolen.
I need to combine old and new. How does it do?
i see "If discovered, the violating account will be deleted and all points will be made void." only.
    3. tag iframe *** It is forbidden on many websites and forums. Security Considerations. (on DX the tag don't accept)

I am waiting for a long time for this moment, and when is this going to happen ? The other things are OK for me, cookie 45 days, it can be 60, but nothing fatal. The commissions are also right, they can seem low to some people but that are the % usually for that type of sites. DX is addictive, so it's not so hard to earn money. In the old program there was something like that only the first order placed from a customer will give the affiliates % of the order, which was very stupid, I hope that is going to change, your affiliates will earn % from every order from these 45 days. If for example the customer click again on our affiliate link on the 30th day is the cookie going to renew for another 45 days ?

Thats my questions, but the most important is when this program is going to be released ?

That shouldn't even be a question when she said the latest affiliate link the buyer used would be the one earning the points. Thus making the last link the active one (cookiewise). Two cookies can be present with the same goal - to give the user points.

The example was one affiliate "taking over" from another because of a more recent referral. For a second referral from the same affiliate the cookie expiry time should reset, but that wasn't stated. If a check was only made to see if the referrer needed changing the time would not be reset if the referrer did not change.

I don't understand your bit about the two cookies. There should be only one, with the most recent referral.

As Ollii pointed out, the new levels are set much higher. Will that discourage people from signing up?
