It works fine and it's very cheap. As soon as I hooked it up properly I could instantly begin sending and recieving data using my phone. You should check out some instructables on how to wire this properly. http://www.instructables.com/id/Success-Using-the-JY-MCU-linvor-Bluetooth-Module/ is a good one.
No manual, no datasheet. Plus, the RX pin needs 3.3 volts so you need to build a voltage divider by placing it between a 1k and 2.2k resistor.
