Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week
Easy to use device, easy to configure. It took me a little bit on reading on forums and several articles, and a bit of experimenting, but all in all it took me 1 hour to get it working as I wanted. The best thing is that there are plenty of info out there, and it is easy to find help. It works great without any voltage dividers if you are working with 5V DC power supply or if you are powering it from Arduino or custom board. It also works great from a 3.3V DC source.
Can be slave only. Because it is based on HC-06, its configuration is not that rich.
The device is based on HC-06. I'm not sure why, but when I'm connecting a USB CP2102 to the microcontroller, I'm wiring TX->RX, and RX->TX. But for this device, I had to connect TX->TX, and RX->RX.
Cheap, easy to use, easy to install, easy to configure device. I didn't measure exactly the working distance, but I've tried to communicate between different rooms, I think it should work for a distance of at least 10 meters.
