Uses 1 or 2 AA. It's bright with 2AA only. You can't get it for less then DX price. So far I don't know who else sale Q5 AA Flashlights in $20 range.

It's dim when powered by 1 AA. Doesn't look like it has regulator! I expected to get the same output with 1 AA and 2 AA, but less runtime. No it doesn't work for me in this way. You have to use 2 AA all the time as with just 1 AA it will not deliver much light.

How I see it as I don't have any tools to measure:

    1 AA - RC-G2 outperforms this flashlight

2 AA - Ultrafire WF-606A 3W Cree Flashlight about the same.

I expected that this Q5 would outperform Ultrafire WF-606A 3W Cree Flashlight, but it didn't happen :-(

    Both at the same price.

This one isn't as sturdy as Ultrafire WF-606A 3W Cree Flashlight.
