It´s a fun human-machine interface to arduino, kind of retro..

I can say that its pros are:
It actually works with the Mega 2560.
    It´s educative.
    Display is brilliant.

Not plug and play, had to invest some time, actually 2 hours to get it working properly. Had to google for documentation and eventually got diagrams, sample code and how-tos. Of course this forum helped a lot, thank guys!
Used an ohmeter to relate the pins (on the back of PCB) with their function.

Found plenty of documentation here http://www.robotshop.com/dfrobot-lcd-keypad-shield-arduino.html

If you plan to embed arduino and to have a simple interface to it, this shield can help a lot, but in fact having an android device communicating with it via bluetooth is way better.
