At my gym they have all the TV's silent, but broadcast on FM channels. I use this when I workout to hear the programming. Also picks up local commercial radio just fine. There is a dock pass through so you could leave this connected. You can quickly switch between FM and Ipod modes.

The tuning is *very* slow. There is a scan feature, but the tuner is so sensitive it stops on most frequencies anyway. So trying to get to 107.1 takes a long time. It does remember the last stations you tuned even if unplugged. There are only very simple instructions printed on the box. But on the ipod screen I see slots for channel preset but I cannot figure out how to set/recall them. Styling looks like old ipod mini, but colors match nano.

It works on my Touch also, but there is no frequency display. So I suspect this would work with most newer ipods, use just may have to operate blind.

It works if you need a tuner, but it can be painfully slow to tune to your station.
