This is the second one of these head torches I've purchased from DX; the 1st one, over a year ago that is still as good as new.
I like the balance of the units. having the battery at the front makes it too heavy and in strenuous conditions when you've worked up a sweat, they can slip down over the eyes, just when you need your sight the most.
I'd tried other brands of head torches with rear battery casing but inevitably, within a short time they all developed a fault in the wiring a problem this excellent torch has not developed in over a year of use, whilst riding my pushbike at night.
My first one is still going strong, but I bought a second when I noticed it was available; to loan to friends and to have as a back-up should mine fail.
Unlike my first, and country to the advertised specs., the new model does not run on one 18650 rechargeable li-ion battery but on 3XAAA batteries, making the battery box larger and heavier. I am a little disappointed about that.

Cheap, wide angel with light, headband has good options for adjustment. Not waterproof at all, especially the "lighthead" is very vulnerable. The fact that it's impossible to focus the light, might make it useless to some. Like on every head/flashlight on DX, the stated LM is highly exaggerated. The box the flashlight came in says 160LM, but the box also seems to belong to another product, so it's not really easy to know. No other thoughts. With the current price ($12.90) I'd rather go for another flashlight in the same price-category, one with the ability to focus the light.

Also the low or mid mode flickers at like 100Hz or so. Strobo mode is useless for me.
Red flashing light on the battery compartment is really weird, it always flashes when battery is inserted and the light is off. (WHY??). Battery compartement is so large it could actually take two 18650 batteries if insides were shaped different way. Spot like lightbeam is good for longer range but not too useful when operating indoors. Mechanically good light for the money. Works way better for worklight if you swap the lense for diffused one so spotbeam does not disturb your eyes so much.

Lightweight, very bright, unbelievable burn times, extremely reasonable. Straps work well and it doesn't bounce around on my head, adjustment stays true for the overnight portions of 100 mile endurance runs Feels cheap, but has lasted almost a year for me so far. Looks outdated. Silly flash mode - with all these 3-mode lights, please eliminate the flash mode and simply make them High, Medium and Low. I see this suggestion over and over again. Low mode is almost too bright for light duty work in the dark around the house. May benefit from a plastic optic as the beam pattern is not very smooth. I've introduced this light to two other ultramarathon runners and they both love it. We have all completed the overnight portion (8+) hours of 100 mile runs on a single good quality Trustfire 18650 2400mAh battery (SKU: 20392) on Low mode. Low mode is plenty bright for moving fast on the toughest trails in pitch black. Brighter is overkill. I have only run for short periods in light rain and haven't experienced heavy driving rains. I cannot attest to its water resistance in bad conditions. Always, bring a back-up handheld. Welcome to the sweet spot of brightness and burn time. Buy this if you need a basic, cheap, very bright headlamp with unbelievable burn times.

Very bright, useable at several power outputs, nice long throw. Head strap is long enough to fit over a bike helmet with stretch, and comfortably fits my head. The focus is a bit too tight for walking around, although there is enough spill to see where your feet are going. The flashing mode is a bit annoying, but the driver is going to be the same as in half the bike lights where flash is a useful feature some times. If you don't have a dedicated bike light then this does a good job on your helmet. Excellent value for money for a nice bright headlamp.

The battery compartment is nice, it closes well. Compartment fit almost any 18650 battery (fit well on my oversized protected and standard 18650). Its lightweight and it has an adjustable angle mechanism. the rubber band was not the best material. use it for a month or so and it loses the elasticity.
im not sure about the capability to block water on the rubber thing that seal the battery compartment. should come with a better compartment cap. overall this product is great, im very satisfied. very recommended buy for night activities.

The batteries has to be forced in and out. It is impossible to remove the batteries only with your fingers, but this is a minor issue. Remember to purchase a battery charger for your 18650 batteries! And remember that the plug on the charger might not fit your power outlet. This was a great purchase! I highly recommend it for long range, outdoor use.
