Be careful when you order and look at the actual strip of magnesium- it's not the whole stick. The magnesium is just the thin rod embedded in a plain metal rod. this item looks like sku 12305 at first glance, but it is much less magnesium for only about a dollar less. The purpose of the metal bar I think would be to give better support so the magnesium ... Read more

This is a very cheap survival fire rod, and it works well. OK build quality. Will make tinder catch fire when it is wet. Small size makes it portable while string makes it easy to cary and to find on your bag. None so far, only the the black cord is a little too thin and flimsy. Can be swapped ofcourse. Cool and pratical. Buy it if you like to go into ... Read more

Slightly larger than you might want to carry everywhere with you, but otherwise definitely worth it. Keep one in your car, or ... Read more

small size makes it portable while string makes it easy to cary and to find on your bag. It produces hot and abundant sparkles. The green thing is perfect to use with it. Grip is very handy! The diameter is about 10mm but the sparkling metal is only 4mm diameter. The rest is just steel. It is a litle too heavy with all that steel. Because it is embeded ... Read more

This is a very cheap survival fire rod, and it works well. OK build quality. Will make tinder catch fire when it`s wet! After some use (about 100 strikes) the plastic part fell off, but it can be fixed with some glue. It will take some practice to make enough sparks for the magnesium to ignite. Also it will take time to scrape off enough magnesium. ... Read more
