  • Very small device, easy to use!

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

It works very well in a wide range of voltage.

Can be dimmed with some small modification.

    Cons:

Dim-Pin is not made available on the PCB, but its not that difficult to add a wire for dimming.

    OtherThoughts:

I have only tested dimming with a PWM from an avr. Amazingly, when my small test-LED directly on the pwm-pin of my avr got brighter, the 3W-LED connected to the device got dimmed. Even more simple dimming could be done with a 200k-potentiometer from the dim-pin to gnd.

    Bottomline:

The self-mounted dim only accepts 5V-input! Don't kill your device! The regulator is very small, so you need some practice to add a thin wire for the dimming.
