It holds a flashlight tight, and does not drop it, at least on my commuter bike.
There is a swivel pin between the two locking clamps. This swivel allows for some rotation. This swivel also has a significant amount of play, causing the light to flop from side to side, or aim in the wrong direction. It's fixable but annoying.
The fix... I wrapped the swivel area with a couple of large rubber bands. This provides enough friction to keep things in place, mostly. I still have to adjust it frequently, but at least it isn't moving with every bump I hit.
Too bad DX never got the Fenix one in stock after 30+ days, I suspect it is better quality. I'll never know though, cancelled after much waiting.
