Build quality is rather good. The manual is easy to understand, and programming channels etc. isn't hard. Has a built-in 88-108MHz WFM receiver which is quite sensitive and has a decent sound quality. DTMF tones work well, not too silent like in some of the other radios apparently. Can listen to two frequencies at the same time and split operation is possible.
At least the one I got wasn't the E model so it didn't have 1750Hz toneburst, so you need to whistle to get repeaters open.
If you intend to work a lot of repeaters needing 1750Hz tone burst, I'd consider something else. Otherwise it seems like a good device.
