Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month
Pros:
This is a great little twelve volt fan. I left it running for several hours without a problem.
Cons:
You will need a spacer if you surface mount this fan. Otherwise, it will scrape. I wish the frame enclosed the sides and had a grill on the back, but I suppose it is intended to be internally mounted.
OtherThoughts:
I used it as a cooling fan for a universal laptop power supply that plugs into a cigarette lighter socket. This worked very well for me because the power supply is drawing twelve volts from the car so I was able to cut the wires and solder them directly to the power input. Do note: this fan blows out the back, not the front which can be surface mounted. I guess it is more of a suction fan then a blowing fan.
Bottomline:
It all depends on what you plan on using this for. The title says that it is for a video card, but I would guess that most buyers will use it for other applications.
