The MK802III converted my older LED TV into a smart tv right out of the box.
- I would somewhat rate it better than a regular smart tv as this device is a full fledged android powered device with a full android user interface unlike smart tvs which have a restricted user interface and apps.
- It is so easy to install, simply by connecting the HDMI to the tv and usb on tv (if available, it powers the device when you turn on the tv).
- Super compact, hides easily behind your tv with minimal wires.
- Ample amount of apps usable just like any android device from the Google Play store.
- WiFi performance is good.
- Internal storage is suffient for a smart tv use case.
- Additionally, MicroSD slot available.
- DLNA /Media client and server app is included and works perfect. I managed to stream HD over wifi from my media server to this device. - The WiFi quality drops when the device is hidden behind the tv. That's quite natural for a compact device.
- No Bluetooth :(
- Otherwise, no major issues. I still haven't found the need to move to a newer version of the MK802.
A compact Bluetooth keyboard (easily available on DX ) works perfectly to compliment this device. Honestly, this is more powerful than buying a newer smart tv.

Quite efective proseccor inside, dosen´t lag so much as was in thoughts... Only one extra usb port, otherwise could be turned in some more complex system (Open source project): if wanted to use with 3G (sms) dongle it would have space for other devices. Cover is plastic. Overall good product and interesting Good choice as dongle to get intelligence into old tv etc.

Easy to install, actually its just plug-in, easy to use if you are familiar with the Android OS (which is 4.1.1) comes with Google Play Store. Haven't had a problem since it arrived, i usually use it only for streaming videos, play 720p and 1080p .mkv files through an external drive and the WiFi works fine no problems yet. Nothing yet, you may want to get an external power supply from 1.5A to 2A since most tv's have a 0.5 usb powered usb, and it may be trouble if you use an unpowered usb hub. You may want to download the newest version of XBMC for android and install the plugin of peliscalacarta which is very useful to see by videos by streaming from different sites like cuevana (just need to configure it with an external player to be perfect), If you are looking for a nice, cheap and fancy Android stick this may be the one for you, not the newest, but it works fine as well.

-Due to a dual core CPU, it works quite well. Apps are not flying but they do open relatively fast (or at least not too slow)
-Can play most of the videos (even HD ones) without any glitches if the content is on the attached USB flashdrive. -I wasn't able to watch movies (especially HD ones) over the wireless although surfing is not bad/
-Android OS is still not optimized for HD so the look and feel is a bit vague. Not too bad but not cool as for instance the menus (or other smart options) on your LCD TV set.
- After a month or two of not so intensive use, the device would not boot any more. But this was a relatively easy fix found on official web site (connecting two internal pins etc.) Would probably go for Rikomagic RK802 IIIs version as they say it has some bugs fixed. Good product if you are an Android enthusiast. Converts your plain LCD TV into a smart TV for 50+/_ euros.

May get USB power from the TV or, if problems, add an separate USB powersupply 5V, 2A, 10W. Anybody with som experience from tablets or PC should be able to connet this to the TV. Need one or some more.

+ Kernel/Firmware image is available for download on Ricomagic web-page.
+ AirPlay and DLNR is supported.
+ Playback on DLNR devices is supported (if enabled in the app you use). - The microSD/TransFlash slot requires the card to be inserted very deeply, so a tool is needed for both insertion and extraction. (But it's probably going to stay in there always anyway, so who cares?)
- USB Webcam is not supported by the provided kernel, so can't be used as a web-phone. - The perfect Media Center took only a few hours to set up after the hardware arrived.
My recommendations are:
* XBMC "Frodo" with NAVI-X plugin, and various live TV plugins.
* VLC
* PPStream Tablet
* PPTV pad In a few hours with this product I had twice more features that I wanted then after several days hacking away on my Apple TV.
This product gives me everything I need for my every day media needs, and has a very high value to the money ratio. Highly recommended.

- the default file browser wasn't very pretty, installed Solid file manager to replace it.
- This model has just one USB expansion port, so you can't hook up an external drive AND a wireless controller at the same time. Comes with a MicroSD and a little HDMI extension in case your HDMI port as too little space around. I bought a Logitech K400 bluetooth keyboard with touchpad to control it. Works flawlessly. Awesome purchase.
