  • Lock picks for amateur

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

Very cheap set of picks, can be used to pick most standard types of lock without any problems. Have had problems with the kids snapping keys in the padlock on the sheds so the key extractors will come in very handy as last time I had to use a chisel and hammer to "open" the lock.

    Cons:

No snake rake so requires a bit more skill to use which isn't a bad thing. The picks are a bit long and flimsy but for the price who cares, if you intend to use them a lot then I would invest in a more professional set.

    OtherThoughts:

The clear plastic holder seems more of an after thought to keep them together.

    Bottomline:

Usefull to have in case of lost keys or heavy handed kids or adults who break keys in locks. Have even used them instead of going upstairs for the key to a padlock as they were closer to hand and it was quicker to pick the lock.

Recommend getting a set just in case as they are cheaper than getting a lock smith out.
