Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month
Pros:
Gets the job done, good price, acceptable flow, comes in three convenient tubes that can be easily thrown in a toolbox and keep the solder clean. Its 60/40 which means its a leaded solder which is much easier to work with than the lead free solder.
Cons:
Not as good as (much) more expensive solder like Kester etc. 1 mm is too thick for fine jobs (thinner solder gives you finer control on the solder amount you use)
OtherThoughts:
This solder is great for the occasional soldier job, getting this fixed around the house or for hobby use. I used this for some RC projects and got good solid joints.
Bottomline:
Good cheap solder for the hobbyist or for small projects, convenient form factor to keep in the toolbox .
Good for the occesional solder job
