Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month
Been using the strings for more than 6 months on an Ovation acoustic guitar in a tropical climate near the sea. The strings hasn't shown any signs of corrosion. Strings are still shiny and smooth all these while. This is great as the other more costly strings like Martin/D'addario all corrode after a week of use.
The strings seem to have a high thermal expansion coefficient. With my other strings, after tuning in any room temperature (in/out of aircon room), the guitar remains in tune. With these strings, when the ambient temperature is warmer, the strings go slightly flat, and sharpen slightly when the temperature is cooler. This is not too much of an inconvenience as ambient temperatures don't change too much during a jam/practice session once the guitar is in tune.
I don't know if the string is harder than the frets. If so, the frets would experience a higher rate of wear. It'll be more costly to replace frets than strings. Only time will tell.
