Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month
Nice light for those dark corners. Loud audible alert. It works as promised. Right amount of sensitivity
Compared to an original its obviously reverse-engineered. Low quality graphics work. Light switch can flicker because leads are not soldered. No brand name=no reputation
Just be careful when installing your batteries. The reverse-engineers made some slight changes that interfere with the battery compartment. The unsoldered terminals for the light switch can scrape the outer jacket of the battery and short out. This made my batteries heat-up real fast. I would not be surprised if it melted the tester after 5-10 minutes. A small piece of electrical tape in this area may help protect the battery. After 5 minutes or less, check for warmth after installing batteries. When using on electrical work, ALWAYS check a known live AC source, the component your working on, then the live AC source again. a.k.a. LIVE-DEAD-LIVE.
Okay cheap tool, but know how to use it when your life is on the line doing electrical work. You get what you pay for.
