after i burned 3 dedicated power adapters on my bench laptop, I decided to look for alternatives. so i took this cheap item and wire it between my laptop and a 12v power supply. it does the job without heating too much. having this positive experience, I think i'll order more to build a bench... Used this as a constant current source for an 3 Watt IR LED, regulating 5V/600 mA down to 1.6V/1.75A; way more efficient than resistor-based approaches of others. Runs fairly cool, indicating good efficiency. Pros: Good efficiency, compact form, screw terminals, seems good quality Cons: No you to... Read more

Pros: small, easy to use Con: (none) Potentiometers for setting maximum voltage and current. With the third potentiometer you can set the currant at which the LED turns from GREEN to RED. This is independent of the maximum current setting. I use it for PWM driving a power LED: I set the current a... Read more

Good quality build, very easy to use after I figured ou how to wire it and set trimmers. To save your time here is the wiring: IN + - to DC power source OUT + - to your LEDs GND to controller's ground (i.e. Arduino) PWM to controller's PWM output, TTL logic, 0% duty cycle means full power, 100% -... - Voltage/Current potentiometers are precise - LED changes color at configurable current threshold - Can easily be abused as a battery charger for SLA or LiIon batteries - Without forced air cooling it can only handle about 4A. - When it gets hot, the voltage drops under load - Quiescent current... Rather small powerregulator for the high current and very usable in his reach, the VC AND CC helps to get the best out of high power leds and laserdiodes (!) (use of a antiparalleldiode is strongly advised) Althougt 5A is often an overkill for LD and LED this pc will work in its comfortzone and ,... Read more
