Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:

    Cheap.

Works just "plug and play" on Linux system I tested it with. I tested with Fedora Linux.

    Cons:

I have read that this device meeds messing with drivers on Windows system. I have not tried that.

    OtherThoughts:

Works well on Linux (Fedora distribution tested).

    Very compact device.

Does what it promises to do.

Uses well a chipset well supported on Linux systems.

I have not done any heavy testing if everything works well (RS-232 handshake line handling usually does not work well on many USB-RS232 converters), but for simple applications this worked well.

    Bottomline:

If you are looking for a cheap USB-RS232 adapter to use with a Linux system this is the one to get.
