This is a simple USB <> RS232 converter. Not much to say here. It's the cheapest one available on DX an as others report it's PL2303 based which has wide driver support (now a days).

The PL2303 IC is actually a blob of epoxy (and a generic Maxim level converter) making it harder to to this adaptor for DIY USB <> TTL Serial. None the less, the epoxy blob shouldn't stop me as I will tap in on the level converter once I pass the module under the rework station.

Opens up easily for DIY purposes, yay \o/

You get what you pay for, as at this low low price, what you get is a blob of black epoxy! ;)
