The 3 I got have a Max 211 or a ADM211. These two ICs are RS232 line driver to meet the specifications of RS232. Levels are -10V to 10V. If you want to use it in a microcontroller project you have 2 possibilities to get it working: 1. use another level driver as the MAX232.
2. solder the max211 out. TX ist on the old PIN 6 and RX on Pin 19.
Some solderings are very bad. I solved this with a few more solder.
Now it has a level driver. So you have to remove it if you want to use it with a microcontroller.
I you want to remove the MAX211 be very careful. Its very easy to destroy the pads.
The PL2303 is glued.
Had a problem with the driver in Win xp.
a good USB RS232 Converter but I´m not sure if it has a original pl2303 chip. Got a Code 10 Error in Win xp. Solved this with another driver.
New Version with level driver. So not so good for a microcontroller project.
