  • If you've broken your hinge, you might need these

If you've broken the hinge on your DSL, you may have also damaged these wires as well. Luckily, DX has them at a very affordable price. Both pieces fit into their appropriate spots perfectly, just like the OEM parts.

While not a flaw of the product itself, replacing these wires are very tricky. You must open the DS (obviously) and work around the fragile ribbon cable that connects the top screen to the motherboard. The wifi wire is especially troublesome, because you must pass it underneath the Slot 1 package. Aligning the mic cable underneath the board and getting everything to sit flush again can also get annoying.

You could probably install these without removing the top screen entirely, but it will make your life easier if you do.
Be very careful around that ribbon cable. If you damage that, you're going to have to replace the whole top half.
Also worth noting, the set I ordered came with two white cables (the OEM parts are white for the mic, and black for wifi). This can get confusing when reattaching them to the board, so I recommend using a marker or small piece of tape to tell them apart.

If you suspect that either of these wires may have become damaged, buy this set. It's only a couple of dollars and pretty to easy to install if you're already opening up the DS anyway.
