Involvement:Novice (still getting used to it) - Ownership:more than 1 month
It works on a single Li-ion or a 12v battery. It drives between 1 to 1.2A (depends on LED and power source) None have failed yet Board diameter fits P60 drop-ins.
Gets a little warm
I have used these on a single Li-ion torch and also in out side lighting on 12v (for our stables). Since buying my first last year, none have failed. None of my Cree Q5s have burnt out yet either, but good heat sinks are needed at 1.2A.
Its a good cheap driver just to have around. I always keep a few in stock for those quick projects. If you do any torch mod-ing or are into efficient LED lighting, try these. Don't want to drive your LED at 1.2A, simply use 2 LEDs in parallel for 600mA each.
