    Spring good, 1000 lbs/in is plausible. Overall metal parts build quality not very bad, but plastic rings have cracks and plastic nut for piston rod not work long time, plastic thread very soft.     As I said, it's a stiff shock, and 1000lbs/in seems plausible. It's got 1000lbs/in printed on it. Here's the thing: this is a spring only. NOT a shock absorber.     I don't have any way to measure it, but yeah it's far too stiff to compress by stepping on it. 1000lb/in is plausible. None... it's a shock. It's shocking! This is too stiff for a robot unless it's HUGE, heavy, and deals with high speed on rough terrain. So bike, light ATV, big robot. And the to... Read more

    - it is actually a 1000lbs coil - price is great - better than my old FOX.     Cheap generic bike spring/damper unit. General build quality looks ok, not sure that I would trust it on a adults bike though - certainly not for off-road use with a heavy rider.
