I bought this adapter for my 2009 MBP. The adapter said for MBA but it is just perfect for my MBP too. I put a 64 micro SD and I name extra 64 gb storage space. I works fine with no problem at all. From the first time works with no problem.
CONS: -Item will not sit flush with your Macbook as implied. It will protrude from the SD-card slot for approx. 2mm (unlike authentic Nifty MiniDrive) which - while certainly much better than having a regular sized SD-card adapter sticking out of your Macbook (I bet the situation is the same for...
CONS: -Item will not sit flush with your Macbook as implied. It will protrude from the SD-card slot for approx. 2mm (unlike authentic Nifty MiniDrive) which - while certainly much better than having a regular sized SD-card adapter sticking out of your Macbook (I bet the situation is the same for all Macbook Air owners by the way) - is still 2mm too much. -Excess protrusion automagically means that anyone at all could steal your stuff in a second if left unguarded... -Item looks to be a regular plastic SD-card adapter that's only been "shaved down" some. Either product description is wrong or DX is guilty of faulty advertising. No two ways about it. PROS: Either way for me DoSeen is easily worth $3 (but next time around I'll buy the real deal instead). MUSINGS: If you were thinking - like I did - of starting to use a large capacity microSD-card as your go-to OSX Photos container - instead of using your internal or external HDD/SSD - you should probably forget it already at least IF your Macbook's more than couple of years old (mine's early 2011 13" Macbook Pro model with 8 gigs of RAM-memory and 128gb SSD, by the way). Either this item - or the particular one that I received at least - will move files at a snail's pace OR chances are that your aging Macbook's insides simply aren't cut out to do this job. It can be done but it will take FOREVER. So far I've managed to curate a little over 4 gigs worth of photos and I still have some 23 gigs worth of photos to go through... I'm transferring photos from my internal SSD-drive to SanDisk Ultra 64GB UHS-I Class 10 MicroSD memory card - via DoSeen adapter. My memory card itself has a marketed speed of up to 30MB/s. I have no idea whatsoever about technical specs concerning DoSeen adapter. So, if you were looking for a new hobby for 2016, consider your problem solved... :) NOTE: I tried using different adapters (even an USB/MicroSD adapter) but they too seemed to be just as slow as DoSeen adapter. So I believe the sluggishness can only be attributed to an outdated Macbook. :( I do feel slightly cheated due to adapter sticking out, but I guess I'll survive this devastating financial setback. Gave this thing a go, didn't really pan out as I had hoped. A lesson learned. PS. Can't see any reason why the photo storage scenario described above would not work if one is using a more modern Macbook, though. Just wanted to share my own experiences. As always, YMMV.
Works like a charm in my MacBook Air, and figured it would work the same in a new MacBook Pro... unfortunately the slot on the MacBook Pro (most recent version) is not quite as deep thus it extends just a little bit too much from the laptop. Re-reading the description, they are clear on this but...

This is my second purchase of the item. The speed comparing with SanDisk original adapter was in the same class, I tested it myself. At this price, it just works, no need to pay for ten times higher branded one.
fits perfectly, easy to eject, good price, late delivery. using with sandisk 64 gb class 10 microsd card. write&read speeds are good. when i connect a usb device to my macbook, sometimes i lost card connection for a few seconds. i don't know why. i don't use card often, so it doesn't bother me.
Does exactly what its supposed to, it is very easy to remove and put in (but doesn't fall of). Does not stick out of the macbook, looks very great. My Air has just 128gb storage so with this and a great micro SD card I can have a lot of extra storage.
